Unlocking RoboForm Using Biometric Authentication or a 4-Digit PIN

Instead of entering your Master Password every time you log into RoboForm on iOS devices, you can opt to use Face ID, Touch ID, or a 4-digit PIN. On Android devices, your choices are Intelligent Scan, Face Recognition, Irises, Fingerprint, or a 4-digit PIN. These secure login methods are easy to set up and are guaranteed to save you time when you’re on the go.

The following instructions assume you have already set up Biometric Authentication on your device. 

To set up RoboForm for Face ID / Touch ID / PIN on an iOS device:

  1. Launch RoboForm, then tap in the upper right corner.
  2. Tap .
  3. Tap .
  4. Under the Unlock Mode section, select your preferred option, then tap Done.

To set up RoboForm for Biometrics (Intelligent Scan / Face Recognition / Irises / Fingerprint) or a PIN on an Android device:

  1. Launch RoboForm, then tap in the upper right corner.
  2. Tap .
  3. Tap .
  4. On the Security dialog, tap Unlock App By and select your preferred method(s).

Enabling Password AutoFill

Autofill streamlines logging into mobile apps and websites using the native browser. It replaces the frustration of manually logging into websites on a mobile device with a simple, intuitive process. Enable it on your mobile devices, and you’ll wonder how you lived without it for so long.

To enable RoboForm AutoFill on an iOS device:

  1. Navigate to Passwords & Accounts Settings (System Settings → Passwords & Accounts → AutoFill Passwords).


  2. On the AutoFill Passwords dialog, tap the toggle switch beside AutoFill Passwords. If iCloud Keychain is checked, uncheck it. This ensures RoboForm is the only application managing passwords on your device. Tap to the right of RoboForm to enable RoboForm AutoFill.

  1. You will be prompted to log into RoboForm. After logging in, a dialog displays, confirming that you have enabled RoboForm AutoFill on this device. Click Done, and you’re ready to go.

To enable RoboForm AutoFill on an Android device:

  1. Launch RoboForm, then tap in the upper right corner to go to Settings.
  2. Tap Integration, then tap the toggle switch beside Fill forms in Apps and Browsers. A message will display, advising you to enable app filling for your device. Tap OK.
  3. You will need to allow the setting to draw over other apps. Scroll down until you see RoboForm. Toggle from Off to On. then close this window. Tap the back arrow until you’re back at the Integration page.
  4. Tap Fill forms in Apps and Browsers.
  5. On the Accessibility dialog, tap Installed Services. Tap RoboForm, then toggle the switch from Off to On. Click Allow on the next dialog.
  6. To avoid confusion, you’ll want to ensure your passwords are managed by RoboForm — and not your browser. Tap the back arrow until you’re back at the home page.
    • In Chrome: Tap (Chrome Settings), then General. If Form auto-fill is checked, uncheck it. Then go to Privacy & Security. If Remember form data and / or Remember passwords are checked, uncheck them.

After enabling RoboForm AutoFill, you’ll have ready access to your saved passwords on this device from now on. Just navigate to a login screen, and tap within the Password field. Instead of manually entering your login credentials, launch RoboForm by tapping the inline RoboForm icon .  Tap the appropriate account, and RoboForm will log you in automatically.

Mastering Using the RoboForm Web Browser
