Have you ever lost your cell phone and thought, “OH NO! There goes all my RoboForm data!” If so, you’re not alone. While losing your phone can be an expensive inconvenience, it needn’t be a security mishap. Before you leave the house, please be sure to proactively check and secure your RoboForm data.

With RoboForm, by default, your data is protected UNLESS you chose to disable that that functionality via the setup or security settings. Declining the use of the offered security methods will leave your data unsecured and open to potential exposure. Once the phone is lost or stolen, you will be unable to remotely change your Master Password and Everywhere account password, so it’s highly recommended that you choose to use these safeguards immediately.

For users who have previously installed the RoboForm mobile app, you can change or check your security settings by following these steps:

Android:

1. Open the RoboForm application

2. Select the “Menu” button in the upper right-hand corner (three vertical dots)

3. Select “Settings”

4. Select “Security”

5. Select “Unlock App By”

6. Choose one of the three options. Please refer to the options under “New Android Installations” (see below)

iOS:

New Android installations:

During the initial setup of the RoboForm app on your Android device, you can choose from two different security options.

1. A four digit pin code (for ease of access)

2. Your Master Password (RECOMMENDED). If this is selected, your Master Password is required each time you open and run the RoboForm app.

3. Touch ID – Android’s fingerprint authentication method

New iOS installations: (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch etc.)

When installing RoboForm on your iOS device for the first time, you’ll be presented the Authorized Access screen. From this screen you can choose the type of protection on the device:

1. A four digit pin code (for ease of access)

2. Master Password (RECOMMENDED). If selected, your Master Password is required each time you open and run the RoboForm app.

3. Touch ID – Apple’s fingerprint authentication method.

If at any point your device is misplaced or stolen, your RoboForm security measures will serve as protection.
